Tim Harvey is a Melbourne based musician, composer, songwriter, producer and engineer. He has been recording & touring locally and internationally in bands since he was a teen at art school in the mid 90s, including with: Aldous Harding, Emma Louise, Lisa Mitchell, Spiderbait, Teeth And Tongue, Jade Imagine, Charlz, Clare Bowditch, Sally Seltmann (New Buffalo), Ella Hooper, La Chambre, Paper Crane, Love Outside Andromeda, Super Hooper, Hot Little Hands, Dan Warner, Minibikes, Tim Richmond.
Tim's friendly, warm, thoughtful approach has seen him produce, engineer and/or perform on recordings by: Gena Rose Bruce, Ruby Gill, Teeth And Tongue, Bertie Blackman, Clare Bowditch, Lisa Mitchell, Sally Seltmann, Ryan Downey, Maria Moles, Panghalina, Cabbage Moth, Total Giovanni, Minibikes, Dan Warner, Jens Lekman, Tim Richmond, Jade Imagine, Architecture In Helsinki, Lior, Still Flyin’, Sophia Brous, Rrawun Maymarru (East Journey), Super Hooper, Super Melody, Ella Hooper, Machine Translations, Iluka, Slow Galo, Forces, Weapons Of Youth, Texture Like Sun, Divide And Dissolve, Oh Mercy, Taylah Carroll and Grace Turner.
A song co-written by Tim Harvey and Charlie Thorpe (- Charlz) called 'The Music' was recorded by German artist Frau Schmidt, and subsequently shared by Coldplay's Chris Martin on Facebook as one of his top 3 favourite tracks of early 2016.
Tim engineered, co wrote and arranged song demos with Lisa Mitchell that subsequently became her 2016 album Warriors. He also played guitar in the studio takes for that album alongside a rhythm section including drummer Matt Johnson (Jeff Buckley, St Vincent).
Tim’s 2014 engineering and production for Lisa Mitchell’s single “Wah Ha” saw high rotation on JJJ, Morning Becomes Eclectic - KCRW (LA), and BBC 6 (UK). In the first two weeks the song garnered hundreds of thousands of plays on Soundcloud alone. In 2015, to promote Wah Ha, Tim and Lisa played 4 shows in LA, including Live, on Morning Becomes Eclectic KCRW, 21 mostly sold-out shows in Europe and the UK, and many shows in Australia.
Tim has twice been a featured musician on JJJ's Like A Version, with Lisa Mitchell and with Emma Louise. His songwriting has been featured on compilations internationally, in TV series’ and in advertising. He is a staff Producer at Electric Dreams Studios.
